Pinned post
Also called pinned tweet, pinned comment, pin to profile
What is a pinned post?
A pinned post is a post fixed to the top of a social profile so it stays there even as newer posts are added. Instagram lets you pin up to three posts or Reels to the top of your grid, TikTok lets you pin a few videos, and X, Facebook and LinkedIn allow pinning or featuring posts too.
You can also pin comments on many platforms, which keeps a chosen comment, such as an answer to a common question or a link reminder, at the top of the comment section.
Pinned posts act like a shop window for new visitors. Someone arriving at your profile from a Reel or a search sees them before anything else.
Why a pinned post matters
Most people decide whether to follow an account within a few seconds of landing on its profile. Pinned posts let you control what they see first: who you are, what you sell, your best proof or a current offer.
They also give your strongest content a longer life. A Reel that explains your business or a carousel of reviews keeps working long after it would have scrolled out of view.
How to choose posts to pin
- Pin one post that explains who you are and what you offer.
- Pin one piece of proof: reviews, results or a customer story.
- Pin one timely post, such as a current offer or launch, and swap it when things change.
- Check that the covers look clear and consistent at grid size.
